About the print
The 112th minute. Aberdeen played Real Madrid in the Cup Winners' Cup final in Gothenburg on 11 May 1983, in rain heavy enough that both sides said afterwards it decided how the game was played.
Eric Black put Aberdeen ahead early, Juanito equalised from a penalty, and it stayed one one until the hundred and twelfth minute, when John Hewitt headed in a cross from Mark McGhee.
The manager was Alex Ferguson, then forty one and unknown outside Scotland, and the squad was almost entirely Scottish and mostly local. Aberdeen had knocked out Bayern Munich in the quarter-final. Real Madrid have won every Champions League final they have played since.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
