About the print
150 to 1. Greece went to the 2004 European Championship having never won a match at a major tournament. They beat the hosts Portugal two one in the opening game in Porto, then knocked out the holders France and the Czech Republic.
In the final in Lisbon they met Portugal again. Angelos Charisteas headed in a corner in the fifty seventh minute and that was the only goal of the match.
Otto Rehhagel was the manager, a German who had spent his career in the Bundesliga and did not speak Greek. Beating the host nation twice, in the first match and the last, is the part nobody has repeated.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
