About the print

One. Playoff series won in the whole history of the franchise, against Quebec in 1986.

The Whalers were the smallest market in the league and spent most of their eighteen seasons trying to stay in it. What people remember instead is Brass Bonanza, the brass band goal song that played whenever they scored, mocked at the time and now the most recognisable thing the club produced.

The team was sold and moved to North Carolina in 1997. The song is still played in Hartford.

Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
