Hunt Lauda Art Print, Fuji 1976, Vintage Black and White Motorsport Wall Art

About the print

One point. Six weeks after being pulled from a burning car at the Nurburgring, having been given the last rites, Niki Lauda put a helmet on scalp grafts that had not healed and finished fourth at Monza.

The title came down to Fuji, in rain so heavy that visibility was almost nothing. On the second lap Lauda drove into the pits, took off his belts and stopped. He said his life was worth more than a championship.

James Hunt finished third and took the title by a single point. Lauda was criticised in Italy for years, and won the championship again the following season.

Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
