About the print
The 73rd minute. Iraq could not play a home match anywhere in Iraq. The squad trained abroad, assembled late, and had a coach, Jorvan Vieira, who had taken the job two months before the tournament began.
They reached their first Asian Cup final and met Saudi Arabia, who had been in five of the previous six. Hawar Mulla Mohammed took a corner and Younis Mahmoud headed it in.
One nil. Vieira resigned the day after the final and went home.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
