About the print

Three goals down at the interval. Milan were ahead after forty-five minutes and the final was finished. Liverpool supporters in the stadium sang through the break anyway, which Milan players said afterwards they could hear in the tunnel and did not understand.

In six minutes of the second half Liverpool scored three times. The match went to penalties and Jerzy Dudek saved from Andrea Pirlo and Andriy Shevchenko.

It was Liverpool's fifth European Cup, which under the rules of the time meant they kept the trophy. Milan won it back two years later against the same opponent.
