Red Sox 2004 Art Print, It Had Never Been Done, Vintage Baseball Wall Art

Three games down, and nobody had ever come back. In one hundred and one years of postseason baseball no team had trailed a seven game series by three and won it.

Boston went 0-3 to the New York Yankees, losing the third game 19-8 at home. They then won four in a row. Game four was saved by a stolen base in the ninth by a substitute runner, Dave Roberts, who played fewer than fifty games for the club.

Boston went on to win the World Series and end an eighty-six year wait. The comeback has still only been done once, and it was against the team that had defined their failure.

Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
