About the print

Twice. Washington had a team called the Senators from 1901, and the saying about it was that the city was first in war, first in peace and last in the American League.

They won one World Series, in 1924, when Walter Johnson came out of the bullpen in the ninth inning of the deciding match and pitched four scoreless innings at thirty six.

In 1961 the club was moved to Minnesota and became the Twins. Washington was given a new team with the same name, which lasted ten years and was moved to Texas in 1971. The capital had no baseball for thirty three years.

Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
