Wimbledon 1988 Art Print, The Crazy Gang FA Cup, Vintage Football Wall Art

About the print

1-0. Liverpool were the champions of England and the best side in the country by a distance. Wimbledon had been a non league club eleven years earlier and were known as the Crazy Gang for what they did to each other in the dressing room.

In the thirty seventh minute Lawrie Sanchez met a Dennis Wise free kick with a looping header. It was the only goal. In the second half John Aldridge stepped up for a penalty and Dave Beasant went to his left and saved it, the first penalty ever saved in an FA Cup final.

Beasant then climbed the steps and lifted the cup. It is the only major trophy Wimbledon ever won.

Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
