Brazil 1970 Art Print, They Kept the Trophy, Mexico World Cup, Vintage Wall Art
About the print
Three World Cups, and the trophy was theirs to keep. Brazil won all six matches in Mexico and scored nineteen goals, in heat that reduced everyone else to walking.
The side fielded five players who all wore number ten for their clubs, which every coach in Europe said could not work, and it worked.
Because it was their third title they were awarded the Jules Rimet trophy permanently. It was stolen from the Brazilian federation in 1983, never recovered, and is generally assumed to have been melted down. The team is still the answer most people give when asked to name the best there has been.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
