Group C Art Print, Endurance Racing 1982 to 1992, Vintage Motorsport Wall Art
About the print
Thirty-five years. For a decade endurance was the queen of motorsport. Group C, born in 1982 on one brilliant rule, race fast while burning little fuel, gathered Porsche, Lancia, Jaguar and Mercedes into a golden age that filled Le Mans with immense crowds.
The 956 and its sisters passed three hundred and fifty kilometres an hour on the Sarthe straight at night, and Stefan Bellof set a lap record at the Nurburgring that stood for thirty-five years.
Then sporting politics imposed Formula 1 engines, costs exploded, and the category died within two seasons. Nothing has ever truly replaced it.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
