Soviet Ice Hockey Art Print, The Red Machine, Vintage Black and White Wall Art
About the print
Seven Olympic golds. The Soviet Union arrived at its first World Championship in 1954 and won it at once. From there it built hockey's greatest dynasty, and above all a style: the puck passed endlessly, hypnotic geometries, five men thinking as one.
The green unit of Fetisov and Larionov was the last and highest version of the school founded by Anatoli Tarasov, who had taught his players to perform the game like a score. The world feared them, admired them, and learned from them even while beating them.
Then the state dissolved and the masters emigrated to the NHL that had dreamed of them for decades. The red machine stopped. The style still circles every rink in the world.
Stories worth passing on, not just remembering.
